From Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn
Three weeks, mainly along the Atlantic Coast...to drive from Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn. We finally got our motorhome back on the 4th of October, got it filled with our stuff, fuel, water, propane...and headed south towards the coast. The pampa, fences on both sides of the road, some wildlife to break the monotony of the road and the beautiful beaches to spend the night. Very easy to find a nice and quiet spot to sleep...most of the coastline being empty at this time of the year!
Punta Rasa: a protected area near San Clemente del Tuyu. Plenty of birds to observe, and plenty of room to play on the beach!
Celebrating Theotime's six years birthday in Necochea, three days on a 74 km-long beach, nearly all to ourselves!
Even in idyllic surroundings, we have to find time to get the schoolwork done!
An inland detour to Sierra de la Ventana, some mountains offering short and spectacular walks. Unfortunately, the trails are closed because of the rain, and we will only have the chance to explore the mountain...from a distance!
El Condor: The largest parrot colony in the world...we found it nearly by chance as we had no idea it was there! 35 000 pairs breeding along 12 km of cliff. Pretty impressive for the kids to hear all the noise and watch the activity.
La Loberia: a tiny village hosting a large sea lion colony.
San Antonio Este: another impressive beach, just to ourselves.
