San Francisco "at a glance"
22-23 July: two short but intense days in San Francisco. We dropped the motorhome in an RV park (i.e. sort of parking with a few trees and a laundry!) north of town and took a ferry to enjoy the city.
In a few words: lots of walking, lots to see, lots of people, lots of fun!
The "big red bridge" as the kids called it :-)
Alcatraz Island...it doesn't look so far from the shore, but the statistics say no one never escaped alive from here.
The street that inspired "Barbary Lane" in the books "Chronicles of San Francisco" from A. Maupin. A short walk up the hill!
The famous cable cars: always crowded with tourists but fun to play with!
Chinatown for a nice meal and the colorful shops.
A glimpse of Haight St, on our way to Golden Gate Park.
An instructive visit to the USS Pampanito, a submarine full of World War II stories.
And, for those who wondered...YES, Jimmy Hendrix is still alive!
